‘hoops’ (2019) was Keiron’s first solo photography show and was held at CryBaby Gallery in Toronto’s west end.
‘hoops’ explores the interconnections between sport and culture by reimagining spaces of leisure as places of expression and beauty. The series examines everyday environments that are typically considered mundane to better understand a particular cultural moment, and uses community courts as the lens to better understand the context in which the hoop is located. This series emerged from a history as a high performance athlete and from an academic interest. Keiron recently completed an MA in Development Studies with a thesis examining the role of art and sport in community development in the post-conflict context of Colombia.
Keiron has never been dunked on.
